Marketers prefer FBGetting started
with social media

It seems like social media is everywhere, and businesses are clamouring to catch up. Even me. I’ve been so busy creating email promotions and Facebook posts for other businesses, that I didn’t get around to designing my own.

In the last two years, consumers have been spending 250% more time on social media.

It’s evident that businesses should have a Facebook page and other social media platforms just to keep up. A business doesn’t have to add them all at once! Start with one method of online promotion and gradually add another. If you’re already using Facebook to stay in touch with family and friends, you might as well add a Facebook page for your business.

If marketers had to select just one social media platform, 49% of marketers chose Facebook, followed by LinkedIn with 16%, according to the 2013 Social Media Marketing Industry Report prepared by Social Media Examiner.

If your organization has services or products worth talking about, then add an email newsletter. Do you have email addresses to start with? Do you have their permission to send the occasional promotion? How can you add more email addresses?

Maybe your sales team can suggest Blog topics. How would they talk if they were standing in front of a perspective client? Now write it down. Keep it brief and concise.

According to the same report, only a third of marketers think their Facebook efforts are effective. But, 89% of marketers agreed that increased exposure was the number one benefit of social media marketing.

So, how can you make your Facebook posts stand out from the rest?
